Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them? And as for us, why do we endanger ourselves every hour? I … Continue reading

It was just last Wednesday morning that we discussed and pondered this subject.
We took the first part of these two meditations:
Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them? And as for us, why do we endanger ourselves every hour? I face death every day—yes, just as surely as I boast about you in Christ Jesus our Lord. If I fought wild beasts in Ephesus with no more than human hopes, what have I gained? If the dead are not raised
1 Corinthians 15:29-34
Our focus was on those who are baptised for the dead since they had been born and had died before the birth, works, death and Resurrection. What would or will happen to such as these?
Christ lived and died for All, both Past Present and future – as we can attest since we, here, now believe on him for he died also for our sins, not just for those in his own time.
Time appears to be linear but God in Christ Jesus is not, He is Lord of all time, of all peoples, wherever He created them, yes, even those in other universes.
Yet think again, we also crucified him, as did they, for he died once and for ALL.
As St Francis of Assisi said to his followers
If there is no resurrection then there is no good news (gospel)
